Buried Treasures

So the other day I was going through my memory box filled with old letters post cards pictures so on and so forth when I stumbled across a weathered envelope entitled Dee's poems.

Hmmm I pondered whats this? I began to unfold the scribbles of mass words with bad grammar and spelling errors, began to read and thinking wow this is pretty insightful for a 15 year old.

I wanted to share...

Don't...

Don't touch me if you don't want to feel
Don't cast your charms if the desire isn't real
Don't lead me into the music if you just want to hear the band
Don't make love to me then later shake my hand
Don't talk to me if you don't want to listen
Don't look into my eyes, you wont see tears glisten
Don't say you love me then walk away
Don't take from me what you cant give back in a day
Don't make me promises if your going to have a change of heart
Don't fool me
Don't even start

Untitled

I saw you yesterday but was it a dream
You seem to good to be true
In my life I need someone special
Someone just like you

Someone who will hold me closely
When my fears become to real
Someone who will hold my hand
When I see something to steal

Someone to say he loves me
Someone to kiss me goodnight
Someone for when the pains to deep
Can bring my darkness to light

Someone to stop the hurting
And the pain that fills my soul
Someone for when love is gone
He'll fill another bowl.

I wrote them both in 1990

What do you think?

  1. Isn't it amazing what we can come up with at a young age. I do the same with my journals. Looking back is fun, sometimes painful, but always interesting!
I wanted to call and arrange a play date soooo badly this week BUT the yuckies that Will was feeling last week turned out to be a really bad ear infection and HORRIBLE pink eye. He is still recovering and now Matti is starting...Oh dear!
    We will get together sometime!
Thanks for your encouraging words on the blog!
    We'll talk soon!
    J.
