3 day's at Farlain Lake, pure heaven...

I have had the best few days up north with some amazing friends and their amazing kids.
Can you say vino, beach fun, sun, hikes...did I say vino?
I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

The only thing that was missing was my amazing husband...

Making it Just Right

We're finally at the faze of personalizing our space.

Unpacking... finishing all the little, but necessary jobs to allow function and organizational flow are complete.
Now its time to allow my eclectic creative decor juices flow.
Check out my latest pics..
I love a well laid out Vignette.

My Dream Kitchen...all that's left to finish is my tile backsplash, shelves and installation of my stoves exhaust system.

I've had this piece for years it was damaged in the fire but salvageable, my very talented husband refinished it and now it has a new purpose as my island....pretty incredible huh?

My bedroom is despairingly in need of some glam, but you can kind of see where I'm going with it.

This bathroom is in need of paint colour, I'm thinking bright aqua blue maybe lime green and grey?

Another Vignette...still needing final touches

My wee's ones Room

Over all what do you think so far?

Have I told you how happy I am to be home?

D.I.Y PROJECT: Custom Cork Board

I love do it yourself projects, almost everything in my house has been rigged up or customized to add some homemade flare.
I needed something over my desk in my office to pin orders, business cards, important reminders etc...But I hate plain old cork boards so instead I got creative and came up with this...

All you need is a cork board, pencil, scissors, saw, cool vintage fabric, frame for needle point stitching.

This needle point frame I found at Goodwill for $4.99

First you need to trace the frame on your cork board with a pencil.

Cut the cork board with a skill saw, drape your fabric of choice over cut board and frame.

Cut remaining fabric and glue or staple edges of fabric to cork.

And there you go, pretty nifty huh?

I got creative with this one by using the pocket from a vintage apron I found at Salvation Army. You can use it to store pens, scissors...the possibilities are endless.

RE-USE
RE-VITALIZE
RE-PURPOSE

That's my mantra baby...

African Lion Safari

Friday June 01st I accompanied Z's kindergarten class on a trip to African Lion Safari....
The weather was pitiful. I rained all day, cold and windy too.
But the kids loved it and we all had an amazing time, and that's what its all about right?

I got some great shots.

It was so much fun hanging out with J and the kids, I can't believe sometimes how lucky I am to be surrounded by such awesome people.
I am looking forward to a summer filled with children's laughter, exciting adventures, great friends and family.
Cheers Tutti
